Got myself a new pair of cute ballerina flats, in eye-catching neon pink, no less! And, with glitters, to boot.

While I like wearing high heels, nothing, however, beats the comfort and ease that a pair of flat shoes can bring. I like high heels because they add height (which is really important for my stature-challenged self), elongate the legs, and look absolutely sexy. The problem is that I don’t find them comfortable enough for long hours of walking. For short periods of wear, they’re okay, but they’re not exactly something you’d wear when you expect to do a lot of walking. So I gravitate towards ballerina flats, flat sandals, or sneakers whenever I expect to be on my feet for long hours.

I’ve been looking for a good pair of flats for a long time now. I have a pair of purple ballerina flats, but I don’t find them comfy enough. The edges are rough and they create friction with my skin every time I use them that I get blisters afterwards. My sister was shopping for Mel shoes one time and that was when I was introduced to this brand. She gushed about how comfortable they are that she wears a pair at her work. I got curious so I tried the Mel Dreamed by Melissa Women’s Mango III Ballet Flats.

True enough, they’re so comfortable. They’re made of this rubbery material that are so soft. They fit me like second skin. They don’t need any breaking in period because they fit me from the get-go. I didn’t have to go through calluses at all.

Initially, I wanted the Mel Dreamed by Melissa Women’s Mango III Ballet Flats in black but they were out of stock, so I settled with the fuchsia version, instead. The fuchsia version has glitters all over it, which makes it sparkly. I find it great, even if the color is a bit vivid, because I like how feminine and pretty it looks, especially when paired with skirts and shorts. The shade is also youthful (not loud at all, but tasteful) and provides some personality to the person wearing them. The downside is that the glitters tend to come off over time, but nothing like a bottle of glue and more glitters can’t fix.

The Mel Dreamed by Melissa Women’s Mango III Ballet Flats are also available in other colors. I plan to get the black and gold version in the future when my fuchsia pair becomes tattered. The black would have to be the first buy, then the gold one after that.
